It a kind of scanner where you first have to insert credit card, then hover your Palm over the biometric device to associate your palm signature with payment process. Once your card is filed, you will be able to enter the store by just hovering your palm above the biometric device.

Since Amazon one is a new technology, it will require a long time for users to adjust with it. In this era where people are habitual of pressing their finger to unlock their touch phone or use thumbprinting methods to unlock a secure lock. Its likely that everyone will firstly assume for mashing the palm over the Amazon One flat surface. But its not. Its totally ‘contactless’ payment method.

In the beginning people would touch the device, so it requires a lot of staffing to take care of it. It is likely to be touched because people may want to know how this technology works. So proper staffing would be set on work to continuosly wipe it and tell people the right way of use.

Amazon says the Amazon One uses computer vision technology to create palm signatures that will be linked to the credit card. The company believes that palm recognition is more secure than any other biometric method.

As its linked with the the credit card, so there is a question that data should be secured. On this Amazon says, the palm images are encrypted and sent securely to the cloud. However, there aren’t any special details available this time.

Amazon says that it just requires you to have a palm and a phone number. But people can associate their Amazon account to view the usage history. They can also add second palm print.

Will amazon one replace the other payment methods

Amazon says that Amazon One will not replace other payment methods. If people want to pay using cash they may pay.
