JPG has a full form- Joint Photographic Expert Group.

The group which designed this Format in 1986. This group submitted this Format and and it got approved in 1992.

GIF Format
It has a limit of 256 colours. It’s a lossless compression File Format. It is good to sbe saved in small File size.
PNG Format
It is a lossless compression File format. Like GIF, it is also a good choice for saving in small size.
How is JPEG better than RAW Files?
JPEG format files are complaratively smaller in size than RAW Files. So you can easily E-mail them to your friends and family. Also, you can easily upload them on your social media. While RAW Files are only useful when we have to Print Images in larger size.

Difference between JPG and JPEG
