Creating Google Form
- You can start creating your for right from the Google forms Application. Go to doc.google.com/forms then start a blank form. There is a link in doc, sheets,slides. Click FILE>>NEW>>FORM to start a new blank form.
- The form editor will come in front of you covering the center of the screen. There will be space for title and description. Click on the form field to edit it then start adding questions.
- After that choose the drop down menu besides the question field. You can select the response type there. For example, multiple choice, short answer type etc.
- The floating toolbar on the right side lets you add more fields.
- On the top right menu you can edit the colour of your google form, share it by clicking on send button, and many other features.
- Switch to responses tab from the question tap to see the responses. There link it to a spreadsheet.

field types. The ones on right floating menu include plus button, which lets

When to use short answer field?
This field is mostly used to
obtain responses like name, e-mail addresses etc. This field is meant to obtain
one line answers but actually people can answer as much as they want.
To avoid getting unnecessary responses there are given data validator fields. Number validator button help
you limit the range of numbers, and text validators can perfectly watch for
email addresses or links.
When to use paragraph field?
This field is for obtaining
long form text. The only validator available is for length. Use this only when
you require the detailed answer to your question.

When to use Multiple choice field?
The multiple choice field is
chosen when you list options and desire the users to select the right one. This
is one of the most effective field to be used in Google Forms.
When to use checkbox field?
Similar to multiple choice type you list various options here. The user can select as many responses as they want.
This field is used to obtain responses for questions that have more
than one answer.
When to use Linear scale?
This field is used to select
number in a range. You can set the scale from 0 to 10 with labels from lowest
to highest.

confusing field. Here you enter the questions as rows and shuffled answers in

You can enter the date

Time:

Google forms provide
the feature to upload images. Either you can add a link from google or can
upload from your system.
Videos:
Google forms
supports the youtube video links. Whenever you add any picture or video you can
adjust its size and alignment there itself.
Store responses in spreadsheets
Once you have created the
form you don’t need to do anything extra to store the responses in the Google
forms. It will automatically save the responses in response tab showing them in
the form of graphs or answer list.
To analyse the answers you
need to link your form to a spreadsheet. Locate the green sheet icon in the
response tab or click select response destination in the menu.
The best benefit of storing
responses in the Google spreadsheet is that- it saves a lot of time. The moment
your user submit their entry, it will get added to your spreadsheet. Also if
you accidentally delete any entry from spreadsheet you can unlink the
spreadsheet from your google form and again link it. All the data will be
retrieved back to your spreadsheet.

Share your Form
Now that you have created
your form, its time to share it with the users to obtain responses.
One of the best feature of
google forms is that you can collaborate with others. You can share your core
form with anyone so that they can edit your form too. To do so:
Just open the Forms menu and
select Add collaborators, then enter the email address of the person you want
to collaborate with.
Once you are done with making of your form check the form sharing settings before sharing it. There you can limit the audience of your form. One more important thing is Language. The user will see the form in the language of their location.
For example, your
form is in English language but the user responding is from Russia then the
buttons like Required field or submit will be visible to him in Russian
language. You can better add a note in the beginning to edit the language
first.
Now just click on the send
button in top right corner to share the form. You can select the sharing link
in both original form and shortened form.
