The first step is registeration on the official portal of passport seva. Visit the website www.passportseva.gov.in. Locate the new user registeration option there and click on it.
Then fill your registeration details there. There you will receive your login credentials, using these login again.
After getting logged in successfully, you need to click the option ‘’Apply for fresh passport’’.
Now fill all the required details that are asked. The fiels with asterick mark (*) are mandatory to be filled by you.
After completing the form, you need to save and submit the form.
After this you will be asked to make the payment. Click on the ‘Pay and schedule appointment’ link and then pay online fees. You can make the payment using debit or credit cards or through internet banking.
After making the payment you need to select the date for your appointment at the nearby passport office.
Now take out the printout of the application that states your payment details and carry it with you when you when you visit the passport office.
If you by chance forget to take the application with you then make sure you have the sms sent by the passport authority as a proof of your appointment.

Online Application Reference number(ARN) receipt printed from the official portal.
The online payment receipt.
Originals of required supporting documents with self-signed photocopies.
Two passport size coloured photographs with light background.
